Eutectic Al-Si Casting Alloy

413 (A413)

Eutectic aluminum-silicon alloy (~12% Si), maximum possible fluidity for complex geometry parts and ultra-thin walls.

11.0–13.0% Silicon (Si)
★★★★★ Fluidity
★★★★★ Corrosion

413 (AlSi12) is the eutectic alloy of the Al-Si system with ~12% silicon, giving it the highest fluidity of all aluminum casting alloys. With no copper content, it offers excellent corrosion resistance. Ideal for very thin-walled parts, pressure-tight components, and applications where fluidity is critical.

Key Characteristics

  • Eutectic composition (~12% Si) provides maximum fluidity among all Al-Si alloys
  • No copper: excellent corrosion resistance in aggressive environments
  • Ideal for ultra-thin wall parts and complex geometries
  • Excellent pressure tightness for hydraulic and pneumatic components
  • Narrow melting range (574–582°C) facilitates solidification control

Industries & Applications

Automotive

Transmission housings, engine components, pressure-tight parts, heat sinks

Hydraulics / Pneumatics

Valve bodies, manifolds, components requiring pressure tightness

Electrical

Junction boxes, motor housings, heat sinks

Special Notes

413 is the natural eutectic alloy of the aluminum-silicon system. Our AlSi11 closely resembles the 413 composition. The A413 version with low iron and no copper is ideal when maximum corrosion resistance is required. Equivalent to Japanese ADC1 and European AlSi12.
